Kirei Board is a strong and durable wood substitute made from rapidly renewable and reclaimed organic agricultural fibers. Recommended for furniture, cabinetry, wall coverings, and flooring.
RESOURCES
Made from annually renewable sorghum stalks (byproduct of the sorghum food-product industry), poplar bonding strips, and a no formaldehyde added adhesive, KR Bond. PIR sorghum straw composes at least 90% of the Kirei Board.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Straw reduces pollution by diverting agricultural waste from being landfilled or burned. Boards are produced in a low-energy and emissions factory located in the center of the agricultural production area in Northern China and are lighter than wood alternatives, reducing cost and impact of shipping. Can be reclaimed.
HUMAN HEALTH
The board is bonded with KR Bond, which emits little to no VOCs. The material has a C Fire Class Rating.
SOCIAL EQUITY
Kirei offers fair wages and safe working conditions to the local Chinese farmers it employs.
