Ecoworx performance broadloom is a recyclable carpet backing made with a 100% thermoplastic polyolefin compound and a woven reinforcing layer. Shaw applies this backing to some of their carpets.
RESOURCES
Ecowarx Broadloom Carpeting is made with 20% PCR content using production practices that convert waste to energy. EcoWorx Broadloom is 100% PVC-free. Surface textiles bonded to the backing range from PET polyester to Shaw’s Eco Solution Q with 10% PIR nylon.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Performance Boardloom requires 40% less energy in production and weighs 40% less than alternatives, lowering transportation emissions and facilitating installation. At the end of life, Shaw Contract Group offers a free return for reclamation and recycling.
HUMAN HEALTH
Shaw Contract Group sells “LokDots,” which are a low to no-VOC adhesive for carpet installation. Performance Board meets Green Label Plus standards for low-VOC emissions.
