Domtar EarthChoice products are FSC and Rainforest Alliance certified and may contain up to 100% post consumer recycled content. 40% of Domtar’s total product are renewably certified.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Domtar encourages responsible use and recycling through partnerships with organizations. Domtar has diverted half of their solid waste, in part by sending it to energy recovery, and derives 3/4 of their energy from renewable sources. HUMAN HEALTH
Domtar uses ECF, PCF and TCF bleaching processes which reduce carcinogenic chlorinated compounds in wastewater. Dontar encourages employees to voice safety concerns and has a very low rate of work injury.
SOCIAL EQUITY
Domtar partners with a variety of organizations that supply books and school supplies to children, and that encourages a love of reading. Dontar donates to united way, Centraide, and the world wildlife Fund. Domatr’s website provides numerous educational materials regarding sustainability.
