
Made from 100$ PCR glass, it is primarily for interior use and is 100% recyclable. It is commonly used as solid surfacing in interior applications such as flooring, walls, counters, and worktops.
RESOURCES
BioGlass is made of 100% recycled or reclaimed glass pieces, heated and agglomerated under pressure into slabs. The material contains no binders, colorants, fillers, or other additives. Raw materials are salvaged or purchased locally.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
BioGlass can be recut for reuse or recycled curbside. Coverings Etc. plans to increase usage of PCR packaging, to reduce packing, to feature PCR FSC certified cartons produced from 100% wind energy, to purchase certificates to offset CO2 emissions, and to organize an employee carpooling, bicycle, and public transportation program.
HUMAN HEALTH
BioGlass does not emit VOCs during manufacturing. All manufacturing facilities are certified by the International Standards for environmental practices UNI EN ISO 14001.
