3-form’s Varia panels are now a 100% recycled material, made completely out of recycled plastic bottles from landfills. Thanks to their new molecular recycling process, a 100% recycled Varia panel diverts 3,296 plastic bottles from the landfill.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
3-form has invested in new molecular recycling technology, which is even more sustainable than their past mechanical recycling processes. Molecular recycling uses plastics that are not suitable for mechanical recycling and breaks them down into their molecular components. These molecules can then form new high-quality plastic material. This allows existing plastics to be reused and can lower the amount of plastics produced from new fossil fuels. Molecular recycling allows the company to utilize a wider range of plastic waste, including synthetic fibers in clothing, carpet fibers, dense plastic containers, packaging, and so much more. Molecular recycling also has a lower carbon footprint – as much as 25% lower than creating new plastic.
