A lightweight, aerogel-infused PU foam that offers superior cold-weather insulation and comfort, combining thermal protection with easy moldability.
RESOURCES
The world’s first aerogel-infused open-cell PU foam, offering the ultimate cold-weather footwear solution. According to the third-party lab testing, this breathable thermal barrier is 54% more effective on average compared to other thermal insoles when tested at lower temperatures around -78°C (-108°F) without compromising its effectiveness even when compressed under foot. Ortholite also publishes an annual sustainability report on its company and products. During production, Ortholite utilized a bio-oil derived from castor beans, a non-food source that doesn’t compete with crops and requires minimal water for cultivation.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Ortholite does its best to work locally so it can reduce transportation and energy; it operates in 6 countries with 10 operating locations. Products are transported in ECO bags and the Blue Box program, which uses durable yet biodegradable and recyclable packaging solutions.
