Sheetrock® Brand Firecode® X Panels lower environmental impact and reduced weight. The panels feature an innovative noncombustible gypsum core that is encased in 100% recycled face and back papers that form a high strength-to-weight ratio composite design.

RESOURCES
EcoSmart Panels reduce natural resource use through lightweight design while maintaining 5/8″ Type X fire performance. The panels feature 100% recycled face and back paper and contain 100% USDA-certified biobased content. Compared to standard 5/8″ Mold Tough® Firecode® X panels, they use fewer raw materials and less water during manufacturing (up to 15% reduction).

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
These panels demonstrate up to 11% lower global warming potential (GWP) based on third-party verified life cycle analysis. Reduced weight lowers embodied carbon and transportation impacts. They also meet the Architecture 2030 Challenge for Products and are Living Building Challenge™ Red List Free, supporting healthier material chemistry and lower lifecycle environmental impact.

HUMAN HEALTH
EcoSmart Panels are GREENGUARD Gold certified and meet CA 01350 for low VOC emissions, supporting improved indoor air quality. The moisture- and mold-resistant core enhances durability and reduces risk of microbial growth. UL classification confirms fire resistance and noncombustibility, contributing to occupant safety.
