Opus, Sappl’s high quality, premium paper is composed of between 10-30% PCR fiber in their sheets products. Sappi produces coated and uncoated paper products for businesses and individuals, as well as packaging paper, including corrugated paper and newsprint. Available in matter, gloss, dull, and satin finishes.

RESOURCES
Raw materials come from South Africa and North America and are milled globally. The materials are certified in their chain of custody. Sappi’s recycled fiber content has increased by 8.5% since 2007, and packaging for their products can be reused or recycled.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Sappi mills use 48.6% renewable energy, and all electricity is Green-e certified renewable energy. Manufacturing wastewater is recycled or treated. By-products of production are used as fertilizer or cat litter. Stumps are left after logging to stabilize CO2 emissions. Sappi is a certified SmartWay Transport Partner. An LCA is available online.

HUMAN HEALTH
There are no known toxins or carcinogens created in production or use. Information on VOC emissions during manufacturing was not provided, but the products do not emit VOCs during use. CO2 emissions have decreased since 2005, and North American mills use elemental chlorine-free bleach. An MSDS is available.

SOCIAL EQUITY
